Allergy drops, or sublingual immunotherapy (SLIT), involve placing small doses of allergen extracts under the tongue daily. Over time, this exposure may help the immune system become less reactive to specific allergens.
Allergy drops are taken at home and do not require injections, making them a convenient option for many patients. SLIT is used off-label in the U.S. but has been widely studied and is commonly recommended in clinical practice.
Note: Sublingual immunotherapy is not currently FDA-approved for all allergens. Use of allergy drops in the U.S. is considered off-label and should be discussed with your provider.
